Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader is a valuable technology tool that we use daily in our room. Students use A.R. to take assessments on their individualized A.R. leveled books. A.R. books can be found in the library or in our classroom. The data provided helps teachers and students keep track of their comprehension and monitor students' progress on selected leveled text.

AR Goals
Each child is given an individualized AR goal to reach each nine weeks
based on his or her specific ability with an 85% average in comprehension.
I know they each can do this! Students are given protected reading time daily to meet this goal and are expected to read 20 min. every night.
This gives them ample opportunity to succeed
and reach their goal.
A.R. is used to monitor and motivate.
AR Celebration/Blast
The students who meet this goal by the end of the 9 weeks
will participate in an A.R. celebration. I will conference with each student weekly concerning their A.R. points and average. Our goal for the class is for 100% of our class
to participate in the AR celebration!
